Why Is the Bracket the Weak Point?
A support system does not usually fail along a straight run. It fails at a joint, and the bracket is the joint.
Everywhere a channel turns a corner, meets a wall, or splices to another length, the loads that were spread along the run concentrate into a small number of bolt holes. The joint then degrades faster than either component would have alone, and it does so at the connection, which is the worst possible place.
